Mr. Zues
11/21/09
The wait is finally over and the newest fur kid has arrived at the sanctuary.  This sweet boy suffered
head trauma and both of his retina's were detached.  His owners were torn to part with their precious
boy,  however they knew they could not continue to give him the care he needs being totally blind.
Zues will be taken to an eye specialist after he gets settled in here a bit.  He had a nice warm bath
and is now curled up on two sleeping bags licking his kong filled with p-nut butter and covered in a
warm blanket straight from the dryer.
Zues will be worked with teaching him the yard and fenced in area.  He needs some more weight and
then he'll fit in just fine.
He is super sweet and loves to give kisses.

I can't begin to thank all of the people that helped us in the transport .  Everything went so smoothly.

Keep checking back to see updates!

If you would like to make a donation for his eye expenses he would really be happy.
11/21   9:07pm update:
I just checked on him and he is curled up into a little ball in his blankets.  I just can't imagine what must
be going through his mind or how I would feel being blind and taken from my home.  It has to be so
confusing, yet he seems to be doing great.  He is a talker.  The entire time I am rubbing him he is
giving me grunts.  What a ham!

Day two with Zues and what a perfect
sweetheart he is.  Each time we go out I cry. I
know I am soft hearted but to have a dog that
knows nothing of you, be totally blind in a
strange place to put his absolute trust in you
makes me so emotional.  You see Zues walks
with me leaning his head against my hip.  So
much trust in so little time. He has chosen for me
to be his eyes and his guide.  I somehow think
he knows that I would never lead him to danger.
Oh this boy has captured my heart already. Isn't
he so proud with his new coat on!

Zeus finally had his eye surgery and is
doing great.
Even though he was blind it was very
hard to see him with no eyes.  Our love
for this boy is so great.
We'll keep you updated on his
recovery.
